One of the Three Great Gardens of Japan ~ Kenrokuen Garden
The garden has a long and illustrious history. The garden was created by the Maeda family over the course of a century and is now one of Japan's finest examples of rambling gardens. The garden is unique in each of the four seasons.
The name “Rokugien” means “garden with six qualities”. The six qualities are grandeur, depth, ingenuity, antiquity, water, and magnificence. Note that not all Japanese gardens can combine these six qualities, but Kanrokuen does.
The Land of Sand ~ Tottori Sand Dunes
Tottori Sand Dunes is a masterpiece of nature that was created over 100,000 years by accumulating volcanic ash that fell on top of the mud and sand of the Chiyogawa River and was battered by the winds and waves of the Sea of Japan.
Its greatest attraction is the landscape that has changed over time and the beauty of nature's molding of the sand dunes. Not only can you enjoy the beauty of the sand dunes, but there are also a variety of outdoor activities that children and adults can enjoy, which is one of the attractions of the Tottori Sand Dunes.
One of the World's Most Beautiful Harbors ~ Sasebo Kujukushima, Nagasaki
There are about 208 islands of various sizes spread out in the sea, and the density of islands is the highest in Japan, with four inhabited islands and the rest uninhabited. Each island has its own unique character. From the Funakoshi Observatory, you can enjoy a close-up view of the Kujukujima group of islands. Take a cruise on the Kujukujima Island Tour Boat and enjoy a close-up view of the small islands as you travel through the islands, and you can also see the natural landscape of some of the islands.
